My present students have actually asked a lot about about "scientific events" as they occur, events such as solar eclipse, lunar eclipse, wind flow e t c.
During such discussion they are very involved and seems very enthusiastic in learning the science of those natural ocurancies.
As a former teacher of physics and integrated science I have always observed that the male students tend to lean more to the sciences than the language and social studies.
