This course is designed to help adult learners strengthen their basic math skills, build confidence, and apply numeracy to everyday life. The program begins with foundational skills such as whole numbers and the four operations, then gradually moves into fractions, decimals, percentages, measurement, geometry, data handling, and financial literacy.
Learning will be practical and hands-on, utilizing real-life examples such as shopping, budgeting, cooking, reading bills, measuring spaces, and interpreting timetables. Students will work individually and in groups, with activities that connect mathematics to work, family, and community life.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
-
Perform basic arithmetic with accuracy and confidence.
-
Use fractions, decimals, and percentages in daily tasks.
-
Measure length, weight, time, and space for real-life purposes.
-
Read and interpret bills, receipts, charts, and graphs.
-
Plan and manage simple budgets and savings.
This course equips learners with the practical numeracy skills needed for independence, employment, and lifelong learning.
